The Key To Living A Life Of Freedom?
It's All In Your Head!

Ken's Blog

Since we've moved to the Caribbean, I've met several people who rely on their brains to lead the life they want, living where they like and doing what they want...

A landscaper from England who worked in Bermuda, then heard about Anguilla and Eleuthra where two jobs were available. He chose Anguilla (he liked the boss better). He went to a couple of other islands and then returned here. He married a woman from St. Lucia, started his own landscaping business, and settled down here.

Or the architect I met at a restaurant one night, a younger man, who moves from island to island doing plans for various developments he hears about through the grapevine. Speaking of restaurants...

Restaurauteurs who are on their fourth or fifth restaurant. They get restless and move on, eventually trying another island the way you or I try another appetizer.

So many examples, but the key point is what links these people.

Their brains. And I don't mean they are geniuses or anything. I mean their knowledge.

And that reminds me of something that SBIer Bart posted in the SBI! Forums the other day...

He mentioned that he loved his day job, but he also loved that he now had the "freedom to chose to go to work every day."

And that is indeed when you are free to choose. When you can live the dream that you are free to choose, it doesn't matter if you roam the Caribbean or stay right where you are and keep doing your day job.

Your brain, or more accurately the knowledge in your brain, has set you free.

Keep on tortoising. You'll get there.

All the best,

Great post! If one thinks about it... it's ALL in our heads. Every action is preceeded by a thought...nothing happens until the thought has been made, whether or not we realize it, or not. So it makes sense to be aware of what you are thinking...positive thoughts will garner positive actions, and also the reverse. It's always in your head!

Interesting idea. I certainly believe your attitude is the most important aspect of how you do in life. If you believe you can do it, then you generally can.

Ive met a lot of negative people in my time. The type that immediately look for the bad side of any new idea. And they generally get little out of life, because they are too scared to venture out on a limb. Everything has to be safe and secure before they do something.

I know if I took that attitude, I would still be working a JOB, instead of having the life I do now.
Cheers, AJ

Absolutely. That's what my website is all about!

And, thank you Ken, because you are one of the people changing the way others think and feel. Your teachings are reducing the FEAR that people have of change and moving forward.

I think that the tortoise works because that is the length of time it takes to achieve "belief". That is the length of time it takes to move from middle income or dependent on a JOB ("just over broke") to wealthy and free in your heart and mind.

Thanks again for your tools and inspiration!

Love you,
Nancy
