Learning the "AM" in BAM by Osmosis
Ken's Blog
I've learned so much during this SBI! journey, but the most important lesson (a lesson that has no exceptions) is the following...
What best determines whether you will succeed or fail with SBI!?
The AM in BAM (Brain Attitude Motivation).
While most people may understand the power of the "A" and the "M" of BAM, they under-estimate them.
Each SBIer lives in his/her own skin. We get to experience each others' attitude (good or bad) in the SBI! forums. We see each others' response to setbacks (positive or negative) every day. If you are paying attention, you can sense who's simply heading down the wrong road and who's fast-tracking on the right one.
There's a reason why so many SBIers with 1000+ visitors per day, with the plainest L&Fs you've ever seen, receive praise on a daily basis...
We all like to be around pumped, excited and exciting people. Strive to be one of them. Return the positive vibe.
And yes, you can "learn how." I did, back in my early undergrad days. How? By watching one person in particular, how he simply made people feel good to be around. He could be stern when he had to be, but that was all the more motivating since he usually simply made you feel alive and happy when you were around him.
-----SIDEBAR-----
Without a sea change in attitude, this looks and feels like manipulation.
But take a genuine interest in people and treasure your interactions with
each other -- you'll be amazed at how good YOU feel for doing it and
how it is paid forward (and back to you) 10x over.
-----SIDEBAR-----
The impact on the quality of your site's content, on your enjoyment of life and your interactions with friends and family, is profound.
I see that at work in our SBI! community...
Many SBIers see other SBIers in the forums, understand the behavior (Attitude Motivation), and do the same. It's one of the powerful, subconscious phenomena that go on in the forums...
AM by osmosis.
We all need a little boost from time to time. Business success is never "humpless." No matter how good your AM is, your B can let you down from time to time. It's possible to make mistakes of judgment or execution. Those with the right stuff, the AM in BAM, learn and start the process over again. With AM, you will ultimately succeed.
Without AM, you simply won't win at the things in life that count. And that's a shame because both Attitude and Motivation are under everyone's control.
All the best,
