Do You Really Need a Website to Make Money Online?
How To Build an E-Business
So many folks think this or that. Why not this and that? Websites did not replace e-mail (which was the first killer app of the Web). Blogs do not replace websites. Facebook does not replace blogs. And so on.
They all supplement each other. Some may be more appropriate as the primary resource, depending on your business. But generally...
A Theme-Based Content Website, an evergreen resource, should be the core. Everything else (e-mail, Facebook, blog, etc.) are adjuncts. Add the ones that can accelerate your business growth the most, with the least additional effort.
The bottom line is...
There may be exceptions that prove the rule, but you will do best with a quality, niche-focused, content site - a site that builds upon solid keyword research and a 3-tier blueprint, around which you diversify other forms of content/PREselling as well as a variety of monetization models.
Now that is an e-business that can be reproduced over and over by anyone with BAM (Brain, Attitude and Motivation) who follows SBI!'s C

Is it the only way to make money online? Nope, but it's the most reliable one. You simply do not own your business if you rely on "free" to make some money.
All you have to do, when tempted by "free," is read the Terms of Service. You'll be amazed at what you don't own and how vulnerable you are.
That does not mean that some free services don't have their place in your business. They do and we point out where and how. But they must never be the core of your business.
The key strategy when implementing marketing tools like Twitter, Facebook, Squidoo, Hubpages, etc., is to use them to build your business and not let them use you to build theirs!
Owning your own site, your own domain, filled with great content that can be monetized... that's the way to go.
