A Business Mindset and Other Lessons
Ken's Blog
SBIer Louann (from wedding-flowers-and-reception-ideas.com) sent me an e-mail about her SBI! experience...

There are some great lessons for you to take away as you build your online business. I'll repeat them here in case you don't have time to read Louann's full post from above...
1) Keep it simple.
Although SBI! offers you everything you could ever need to build a successful online business, you do not have to do it all. Part of "keeping it simple" is to focus. Louann keeps her eye on the ball.
2) Outsource.
Louann does not like building links. So she outsources. Do not outsource the roles that you feel are core to your business (ex., Louann does all her own content creation). Drop-shipping is another kind of outsourcing -- no need for you to pick-pack-ship.
3) Reinvest in your business.
To grow a business, you need to invest in it. Louann's investment in doing the overhaul of her e-store, now that she sees that it is a growing success, will repay itself many times over. You will also find other places where she is not afraid to re-invest.
4) Have a Business Mindset.
SBI! is not your "try of the month." This is serious, long-term business-building. Commit to it with these words of Louann in mind...
"I approached this as a business and have treated it as such."
5) Experiment.
Louann's new right column worked too well. It drove affiliate income, but took dollars from her store. Guess what she'll be using that right column for?
Many experiments won't work. It's why they're called "experiments." But when one does, you receive its benefits forever. And failed experiments teach you something useful.
6) If Louann can do this, you can, too...
"I was not prepared at all for creating an on-line business. Even the simple Blockbuilder stumped me and I was so frustrated in the beginning."
"I only have a high school education."
7) Remember the long-term goals and that the work and early frustrations are worth it!
"... impacted my family's life. My husband works very hard and is looking forward to an early (and hopefully comfortable) retirement. I now spend my time doing something I enjoy - and set my own hours while doing it!!"
8) Give back. Pay it forward.
Louann is a regular in the SBI! Forums. Where else could you get free advice from so many successful business people on such a wide variety of subjects?
It's amazing to see SBIers discover "the right stuff" that really is inside of everyone, to watch them grow from strength to strength.
My personal philosophy on life...
At the end of the day, if we don't impact the lives of others in some positive way, I don't believe we've lived a life that amounts to much.
I hope this proves to be the inspiration everyone needs, sooner or later, when building a business. Growing your own business is never a straight-line-to-success story.
May this help you get over whatever hump you may face in the future, so that one day you too will attain whatever YOU define as "success" (everyone's definition is different).
All the best,
